Red Bulls Decline Option For Juan Pablo Angel

SECAUCUS, N.J. (AP) — The New York Red Bulls have declined the contract option of Juan Pablo Angel, their career scoring leader.

The Major Soccer League team also did not exercise options for midfielder Luke Sassano and defender Carey Talley, making all three eligible for the league's re-entry process.

Angel has led the Red Bulls in scoring each of the past four seasons. The former Aston Villa forward from Colombia had 13 goals this year and 58 in four seasons with the club.

Sassano played in three matches this season before being sidelined by surgery on his right ankle. Talley was acquired from D.C. United late in the season and appeared in one game.
