Jets’ Cotchery On WFAN: Patriots ‘Embarrassed’ Us

NEW YORK (WFAN/AP) — Jets wide receiver Jerricho Cotchery joined Joe Benigno and Evan Roberts Tuesday to recap New York’s “embarrassing” loss to the New England Patriots Monday night.

“It’s about execution when you’re playing the Patriots,” said Cotchery. “When you don’t execute, it makes you look like the worst team ever.

“When you don’t execute and do all the things you’re supposed to do, especially when you’re playing up there in their place, they’re going to take advantage of things and they’re going to pretty much embarrass you. That’s what they did to us last night.”

New England found little resistance, turning a much-hyped matchup between AFC East co-leaders into a 45-3 blowout.

“We have to look ourselves in the mirror, every guy on the team,” Cotchery said. “We didn’t get it done by any means.”

The Jets’ veteran receiver isn’t sure why the Jets played to poorly Monday night.

“We worked hard throughout last week, I thought the guys were pretty focused.”

Cotchery isn’t worried about his team heading into New York’s next game against the Miami Dolphins.

“I know coach Ryan will get it fixed. He’s done a great job of getting us back on track.”

Sane fan.. The gloating pats fan said Sanchez can’t win in the cold but he won his first playoff game in Cincy in sub degree temps.. plain stupidity and the Pats did lose to the Ravens in the playoffs last year.and I don’t think their defense is any better now than it was then.

Jerry R, what are u talking about? Are we still talking about 2010? The Pats didn’t lose to the Ravens this year as far as I know.

  • Pats fan

Hey, Jerricho, we’re not scared of a Southern California boy who clearly doesn’t like the cold. As a Pats fan, Pennington was a guy I worried about — cerebral and a good decision maker. This guy you’ve got now is a soft, frunt-running stiff who will never win a tough game in the cold.

tom brady is a california guy, he can win in the cold. i’m a pats fan and this win really means nothing. it means that the pats were able to avenge their loss from earlier in the season. thats it. pats could easliy lose to the bears or packers or both and all this momentum is over. jets are better than this. don’t count them out.

He did win in the cold you moron.. against the Bengals in Cincy with below freezing temps.. while belecheat and cry Brady were getting smacked around at home by the Ravens.. guess Belecheat forgot his camcorder that day..
