Even if the Mets don't move, say, Carlos Beltran this winter…he's still a guy that can have significant value next July if he comes back healthy. It will also be that much less money for the Mets to hand off or eat themselves. Might the same be true for Oliver Perez, Luis Castillo, or K-Rod??
