Stamford Cop Shot In The Face, Suspects In Custody

STAMFORD, Conn. (WCBS 880) — A Stamford police officer was shot in the face in the line of duty Thursday night.

WCBS 880’s Fran Schneidau reports

Officer Richard Gasparino, a 10-year veteran of the force, arrived at a house on Lockwood Avenue to execute a narcotics search warrant.

Police said a bullet was fired through a door and struck Gasparino, 37, in the neck and cheek.

Captain Richard Conklin told WCBS 880 the gunman was no more than three to four feet away from Gasparino when the shot was fired.

Two men have been arrested and a weapon was recovered at the scene.

Gasparino was recently honored as officer of the year. He is listed in stable condition at Stamford Hospital.

I can never understand this logic. These morons obviously shot the cop because they didn’t want to go to jail. So instead of serving maybe 10 years on drug charges, now they will spend the rest of their lives in prison for killing a cop. Idiots…
