Teachers In L.I. Town Agree To Pay Freeze
DEER PARK, N.Y. (WCBS 880) -- In Deer Park, Long Island, teachers have given the thumbs up to a pay freeze.
The Pay freeze will last for one year in the Deer Park School District.
Superintendent Eva Demyen said that the freeze will save the district $1.2 million.

That money, Demyen said, would be used to save important programs "like clubs, support programs for extra help, electives for students to prepare them for careers."
There are about 400 teachers working in the district.
