19-Year-Old Taxi Driver Shot to Death In Copiague

COPIAGUE, N.Y. (AP) — Police say a taxi driver was found fatally shot in his vehicle parked on a Long Island street where he had gone to pick up a customer.

Juan Rosario was discovered in the vehicle in Copiague late Sunday afternoon.

Suffolk County police say officers responding to a a 911 call about 5:30 p.m. found the 19-year-old slumped over the steering wheel of the minivan parked on 42nd Street.

It was not immediately clear how many times he had been shot.

Police say he worked for 5 Star Taxi Service. The man’s death remains under investigation.

    It should be mandatory for cab drivers to carry a gun and they should be trained just like the cops: shoot to kill.
