Shipping Deadlines Loom For Christmas Day Delivery

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) --If you still have some holiday shopping to get done, today might be the day to stop procrastinating – it's what's known as Free Shipping Day.

About 1500 stores nationwide offer both free shipping and a guaranteed Christmas delivery. To find out what stores are participating, you can check out FreeShippingDay.com.

Here are some of the deadlines for shipping holiday packages:

The FedEx deadline for ground and home delivery service for Christmas is Friday, Dec. 17.

If you're shipping via UPS, your package will need to be shipped by Dec. 21 with 3-Day Select. You have until Dec. 23 to use UPS Next Day Air.

If you send something through the U.S. Postal Service, first-class mail needs to be sent by Dec. 20.

Priority mail needs to be sent by December 21.

Express mail will arrive by the Christmas Day if you send it by Dec. 22.

If you're planning on sending a letter or package to someone in the military overseas, it needs to be sent by Dec. 18.
