Jersey City School Confirms Bed Bug Problem

JERSEY CITY, N.J. (AP) -- A Jersey City school that has a confirmed case of bed bugs says it can't fully exterminate until school is out of session.

The Jersey City Board of Education says officials are trying to confine the critters to the third floor of School 23 on Romaine Avenue. Until school lets out for the holidays, they will disinfecting areas on a spot basis.

Parent George Wendt says his 13-year-old son spotted the bloodsucking bugs in his classroom a couple of weeks ago and told the principal right away. His son has since been moved to another classroom.
