Bronx Church Robbery Suspect To Face Charges

NEW YORK (CBS 2) -- A suspect is in police custody in connection with a string of church robberies in the Bronx.

Nathan Linden was caught by police as he was allegedly breaking into the school associated with Saint Philip Neri Church on Grand Concourse in the Bedford Park section of the borough  on Sunday.

Linden was also charged with burglarizing Iglesia Bautista Hispana de Fordham on University Avenue.

The 51-year-old suspect was under investigation in as many as nine other church break-ins.

Last month, someone broke into Our Lady Of Refuge in Bedford Park and got away with two laptops, a video camera and $1,300 in cash. Other churches that had been targeted include St. John's Catholic Church and Our Lady of Angels Church.
