NEW YORK (AP) — The Fire Department says about 140 firefighters battled a three-alarm blaze Tuesday afternoon in the Bronx.
Spokesman Rich Viglione says six civilians suffered minor injuries.
Viglione said the fire was declared under control at 2:37 p.m.
It happened at 1882 Grand Concourse, near East Tremont Avenue — about a mile north of Yankee Stadium.
Earlier, spokesman Frank Dwyer said there were flames on the seventh, eighth and ninth floors of the building.
