Teen Charged With Fatally Shooting Man In Newark
NEWARK, N.J. (AP) -- Authorities said another person has been fatally shot in Newark, the latest in a string of shootings.
Katherine Carter, a spokeswoman for the Essex County Prosecutor's Office, said 46-year-old Darryl Logan was shot Friday night at Osborne Terrace and Shephard Avenue. He died at University Hospital.
Police said a 17-year-old from East Orange was arrested after the shooting and was charged with murder on Saturday.
Detective Josephine Santaniello said the teenager is being held at the Essex County Youth House without bail.
Santaniello told The Star-Ledger newspaper that investigators believe Logan and the teen were arguing before the shooting.
Logan became the fourth person -- including two high school students -- to be shot to death in Newark since Thursday. Six others have been wounded.
Police said the shootings were unrelated.
