NEW YORK (AP/CBSNewYork) — Just over 1,000 Con Edison customers remain without power in the New York City and another 396 customers remain affected in Westchester County because of Sunday’s blizzard and high winds.

The utility company hopes to restore service to nearly all of customers by Tuesday morning.

About 10,000 customers had been affected at the height of the storm.

PSE&G is reporting that 200 customers were without power as of 10 p.m.

The Long Island Power Authority says it still has 362 customers without power in Nassau and Suffolk counties. That’s down from 12,000 overnight.

losing power can be frightening and disorienting. you need to keep the refrigerator closed. it gets dark at night. very quiet. creepy. scary.
