Joan Pierre-Mann, of Jersey City, gave birth Monday in the front seat of her family's Toyota Highlander with the help of two detectives.
Her husband Fredrick Mann says tells the Jersey Journal of Jersey City that he tried to get his wife to St. Barnabas Hospital in Livingston when his wife went into labor.
But a major road was closed, minor ones were clogged with stranded cars. And he took a wrong turn.
Two detectives were flagged down and were able to help deliver the 6-pound, 10-ounce boy about a half-mile from the hospital.
The couple's 5-year-old son was in the car for the delivery.
