NEW YORK (WFAN) — Wide receiver Jerricho Cotchery joined WFAN’s Joe Benigno and Evan Roberts on Tuesday to discuss what’s happening around the playoff-bound New York Jets.

The Jets lost to Chicago on Sunday, but managed to clinch a playoff berth with Jacksonville’s loss to Washington.

“Guys still were, I guess, pretty much happy that we made it to the playoffs,” Cotchery said. “But it was still an odd feeling because we had lost the game, but we were excited about continuing our goal toward the Super Bowl.”

For the Jets to be successful in January, New York needs quarterback Mark Sanchez at full strength. According to Cotchery, Sanchez’s ailing shoulder is holding up just fine.

“Mark is doing a great job right now,” said the veteran wide receiver. “He was throwing the ball extremely well on Friday and it carried over to the game. So hopefully he can continue to play that way.

“He gradually got better in the season last year and it carried over into the playoffs, so we’re looking forward to the same thing.”
