Gas Leak Sends 5 To Hospitals On Long Island
GARDEN CITY PARK, N.Y. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Police said a gas leak has sickened five people in a small apartment building on Long Island, but any injuries appear to be minor.
Nassau County police said the gas apparently leaked from a first-floor deli in Garden City Park into the apartments upstairs around 12:30 a.m. Friday. The building is on Jericho Turnpike.
Five people were taken to hospitals with nausea. Another six were exposed to the gas but refused medical treatment.
