NEWARK, N.J. (AP) — Newark police say three people were wounded this weekend in a shooting in the city’s West Ward.
But none of the wounds were considered life-threatening.

Det. Hubert Henderson, a police spokesman, says the shooting occurred just after 5 p.m. Saturday in the 400 block of South 11th Street. Officers went there after an acoustic gunshot detection system reported shots had been fired.

Upon arrival, they found each victim had been shot at least once. Henderson said one was hit in the arm, another in the hand and the third in the back.

All three victims, whose names were not released, were taken to University Hospital in Newark.

No arrests have been made.
