B&C Show Blog & Audio: Job Security

Bobby Dwyer

Well, the dust has settled and after the long haul of the 2010-11 NFL season the Jets find themselves preparing for a Wild Card match-up with the Colts in Indianapolis, while the Giants are once again on the outside looking in as far as the playoffs are concerned.  Despite a 17-14 victory over the Redskins yesterday and 10 wins on the season, Big Blue has no one to blame but themselves.  With one year left on his contract, Tom Coughlin will return to the sidelines next year, but according to Craig, his offensive coordinator Kevin Gilbride should be fired.  Boomer took it all in, sang the praises of Tom Coughlin and listened to his radio partner guarantee a Jets victory on Saturday night in Indy…

Craig called for Kevin Gilbride's job during the Open of today's show and prior to Jerry's first update, he let his feelings for Giants tight end Kevin Boss be known.  With that out of the way, Jerry proceeded to give us a brief recap of all of the NFL Week 17 action and what the playoff picture is looking like, during which Boomer emphatically told Craig to 'Shut-Up' numerous times.  We also heard from Mike D'Antoni after his Knicks team beat the Pacers at the Garden yesterday afternoon 98-92 and to Boomer's chagrin, the Rangers were shut-out by the Panthers in Florida, which Jerry managed to get in…

Some have taken to referring to the NFL playoffs as 'the tournament' and Craig doesn't like it one bit and would like it to stop immediately.  One thing he does like is the performance of Joe McNight yesterday for the Jets, the rookie running back gained 158 yards on 32 carries, and according to Craigie; the Jets now have a '3 Headed Monster' in their backfield.  That led to a conversation about '3 Headed Monsters', a conversation that 'the' Eddie Scozzare was happy to contribute to…

St. Louis Rams v Seattle Seahawks

Despite their 10 wins, by now you know the Giants will not be participating in this year's NFL Playoffs.  When you couple that, with the fact that the Seattle Seahawks (who won just 7 games) not only qualified for the postseason, but will be hosting the New Orleans Saints on Saturday and you have a lot of upset football fans.  Boomer & Craig talked about the current playoff system and what the NFL could do to improve it…
