B&C Show Blog & Audio: Knicks Make a Statement

The Knicks beat down the San Antonio Spurs last night at the Garden by the score of 128-115, the biggest win for Mike D'Antoni's squad thus far this season.  The Spurs entered the game with the best record in the NBA (29-4) and when the final horn sounded they had allowed the Knicks to score the most points ever through four quarters, during Tim Duncan's storied career.  The Garden was rockin' last night and Boomer was all kinds of pumped-up, Craig was excited as well, but is still 'curbing his enthusiasm' at this point when it comes the Knickerbockers.  Boomer reiterated that he would like to see the Knicks stand pat with the unit they have and not deplete their talent pool to try and acquire Carmelo Anthony and/or Chris Paul.  So it was all about the Knicks in today's Show Open, who with the win improved their record to 20-14, as they embark on a four game road trip that gets underway Friday night in Phoenix…

New England Patriots v New York Jets

With the Jets getting prepared to travel to Indianapolis with thoughts of getting revenge on the Colts, the guys talked with Jets legend Joe Klecko about this current version of Gang Green.  The guys also embarrassed the humble Klecko a bit by reminding everyone of exactly how good he was when he played and how he belongs in the Hall of Fame…

Oakland Raiders v San Diego Chargers

Then it was time to play the fun trivia game called 'Do you Know More Sports Than…' and today we welcomed Christine into the fray.  Christine is a hot registered nurse from Huntington, Long Island and I must say she had brains to accompany her beauty.  Her opponent David was no slouch either, in the knowledge department that is and it took a couple of Bonus Questions to decide this match-up…

Gerry Cooney compiled a record of 28-3 during his professional boxing career and is best known for his epic 13 round loss to Larry Holmes back in 1982.  He made the trip to the WFAN Studios this morning to talk with B&C in person about his time in the ring and the state of the sport today.  While talking about the Holmes fight with the guys, Larry Holmes himself actually called in, he and Cooney are close friends to this day…
