Barnes & Noble Overall Store Revenue Up 8.2 Pct

NEW YORK (AP) -- Bookseller Barnes & Noble Inc. said Thursday its store revenue rose 8.2 percent to $1.1 billion during the nine weeks ended Jan. 1.

As previously announced, revenue in stores open at least one year rose 9.7 percent. That was the company's best holiday performance in more than a decade, Barnes & Noble said.

Barnes & Noble said it sold "virtually its entire inventory" of Nookcolor and other electronic readers during the holiday season.

Total Barnesandnoble.com sales rose 67 percent to $228.5 million

Shares rose 31 cents, or 1.9 percent, to $16.37 in morning trading Thursday.
