I see that at least a few morons think that anyone opposed to resuming alternate side enforcement must be simply whining over not wanting to “clean off” their car. It has nothing to do with that. If you just look out your window you’ll see that most streets can’t actually be cleaned (unless you live on a huge main street), due to the large frozen mountains of ice spotting both sides of the roads. So, all this regulation does is force people to fight over the far-fewer spots that are normally available (ie: when ice mounds don’t block half the spots on the street) while not cleaning anything. It’s a revenue-generating move, once again dumping on the backs of everyday working New Yorkers. This is total BS.

Bet ya the street sweepers don’t leave the garage but the ticket agents do.

Heh, most blocks, if not all, around my nabe still have piles of frozen snow. I can move my car, but I hope the sweeper can get through those piles. Otherwise, it’s not really sweeping, but more like resume ticketing.

This makes sense but only if the department of sanitation clears the snow from these areas,that will make parking easier.If nothing is done then suspending parking makes no sense.

The purpose of Alternate Side is to clean the streets. But aside from the cars, most of the local streets in the outer boroughs are still covered with snow. So is it the intent of Sanitation to plow the streets or drive their “Brooms” ? Unfortunately, the latter will be impossible.

The blizzard was two full weeks ago. Your car should be cleaned off by now and moved by now.
