NYPD Investigates Dead Woman In Subway Bathroom

NEW YORK (AP) -- Police said a woman was found hanging by a rope from a water pipe inside a New York City subway station in an apparent suicide.

The woman was not identified pending family notification. The medical examiner will determine a cause of death.

Her body was found at around 2:45 p.m. Monday in a public bathroom at the Forest Hills stop in the borough of Queens, which serves four subway lines.

Another customer discovered the woman, and contacted a station agent who called police.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Police were investigating the incident.
