This is a list that should be consumed by mostly one player: EDDIE VAN HALEN!!
“Aint Talkin Bout Love” number 26? How about “Running With the Devil?” “Jamie’s Cryin?” (Sampled by Tone Loc in Funky Cold Medina.) “Panama?” “Hot For Teacher?” Eddie Van Halen’s solo made “Beat It” famous in the Rock community, not Steve Lukather. Then if you get in to “Eruption” and “Spanish Fly”, you have taken this list to a level that immediately exceeds Hendrix, Bellamy, Cobain, and Slash.

    What about “Suzy Q”?

Lists like these are pointless & usually biased.

How on earth can you have a list of “greatest guitar riffs” and have NOTHING listed for Stevie Ray Vaughan ?!?!

  4. Laura says:

It’s gotta be Hendrix but, I still love me some Keith from the Stones.

Please wake up, people! The opening riff of My OwnWorst Enemy (by Lit) is classic and iconic, though maybe too “new” for Spinner. Can’t BELIEVE it didn’t make the list!
