Giants' Tuck: Rolle-Call Over Comments 'On My Agenda'

NEW YORK (WFAN) -- Antrel Rolle made a splash this week with his critical comments toward the Giants' "too uptight" head coach Tom Coughlin.

According to the New York Daily News, several Giants are upset with the outspoken safety, including defensive captain Justin Tuck.

"I haven't talked to him yet, but it is on my agenda to call Antrel," Tuck explained to the Daily News. "When I do, I will make a statement."

While Rolle softened the blow by calling Tom Coughlin a "very caring, honest guy" on Monday, his "too uptight" blow was heard loud-and-clear.

"That's where the problem comes with me, as a coach. When you're talking about the coaching side of things, do I feel like things are a little too uptight? Yeah, I do," Rolle told WQAM's Sid Rosenberg. "Just let us have a little fun a little bit, man. I like the coach, I understand what he's trying to do but he has to understand it's 2011, man, things have changed."

In addition to criticism toward Coughlin, Rolle had strong praise for Jets head coach Rex Ryan.

"People want to talk about Rex Ryan and this, that and the other. That team is going to war for him, they would die for him," Rolle said.

The normally soft-spoken Kenny Phillips was also outspoken during the interview, leading some to wonder whether Rolle has become a clubhouse cancer.

"I was not trying to compare Coach Coughlin to Rex Ryan," Phillips told the Daily News. " The Giants have been great to me. That was just taken the wrong way."
