Cops Searching For Suspects In 3 NYC Robberies

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The New York City Police Department is asking for the public's help identifying three men suspected of committing three late night robberies.

The first incident happened on January 4, when one of the suspects walked into the Pizza Place on East 14th Street and ordered a slice of pizza. He left the establishment, but soon returned with two other men. The men forced their way behind the counter, stealing an undetermined amount of money from the register, and then fled the scene.

On January 7, two suspects entered Cigar Cohiba on Greenwich Avenue and attempted to purchase cigars. When the store employee opened the register, the suspects went behind the counter, punched the worker and took an undetermined amount of cash, along with the employee's cell phone, before fleeing.

On January 13, two suspects entered the Green Apple grocery store on First Avenue. While one suspect bought a soda, the other suspect went behind the counter and punched an employee in the back of the head. The first suspect then lifted the entire cash register, containing an undetermined amount of cash, off the counter and placed it in a black garbage bag.

All three incidents happened between 10 p.m. and 2 a.m.

Authorities described the suspects as black males in their thirties, approximately 5'8" to 5'10" and weighing between 160 and 170 pounds, wearing black or brown hooded sweatshirts.
