3 Children Among 7 Injured In Brooklyn School Bus Crash

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Seven people – including three children – were hurt in an accident Monday afternoon between a school bus van and another vehicle, the FDNY said.

The bus spun out of control and landed on its side after colliding with a car at Mother Gaston Blvd. and Bergen St. in Brownville, Brooklyn.

The three children were not seriously hurt, but a witness who helped get them out of the bus said the boys were crying, blooded and terrified.

"I hear the little kid screaming...'get me out of here. I want to go home.'" And I pulled the kid out of the school bus and then I see a kid hanging like he was scared," he told 1010 WINS' Sonia Rincon.

According to that witness and Good Samaritan, the driver of the other car did not stop at the intersection and ran the stop sign. Police, however, said there was no criminality in the accident.

The driver and matron were briefly trapped. They, along with two people in the other car, are expected to recover from their injuries.
