B&C Show Blog & Audio: What Now?!

Bobby Dwyer

So that's that… the Jets' magical season came to an abrupt conclusion last night in Pittsburgh, as the Steelers handed Gang Green their second consecutive loss in the AFC Championship Game, the latest coming by a score of 24-19.  The first phrase that comes to mind is of course, 'Same Old Jets', which has become a catch phrase associated with the Jets for many years, but thanks to Rex Ryan, the association is now a positive one.  In just his second season, Rex has taken his team to places they have never been and for that Craig is thankful.  Yes, Craig was visibly upset this morning, but he did not fly off the handle and demand any big changes, although he did mention he'd like to see Brian Schottenheimer shown the door, but all-in-all Craigie had a pretty positive outlook and considering the wounds are still fresh, frankly he acted very mature.  Moving forward Craigie likes what the Jets have to offer, starting with their boisterous Head Coach and young stud at QB.  Boomer agrees with Craig assessment of Mark Sanchez and the Jets, pointed to a few squandered opportunities by Rex's bunch and just the great playmaking ability of Ben Roethlisberger, who is heading to his third Super Bowl, having already won two of them.  So the guys certainly had a lot to cover this morning as the healing process began for Jets Nation…

Plus, Jerry 'Rello' does his thing getting us all the stories following Championship Weekend, the crew debates which Jets will/won't return and Ben Roethlisberger finds god, Mark Sanchez uses his mentor as a snot rag, Jerry's Moment of the Day gets a little gross and a 'hot-box-of-rocks' from San Juan is today's lovely 'Attention Grabber'…

Prior to the first update of the Show, Craig was trying to get Jerry to say the letters T & O, so he decided to test his knowledge of the alphabet, Jerry wasn't prepared for the pop-quiz.  Lucky for him, Jerry was prepared to deliver an update, a rather informative update at that, dominated of course by reaction from the Jets loss to the Steelers in the 'Steel-City'…

The guys had a little fun playing the role of prognosticators and speculating which Jets will & won't return for next year.  Then we hear that Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger has apparently 'found god', which makes sense I guess.  More news from the AFC North as reports out of Cincinnati are saying Carson Palmer may or may not want out of the 'Nati, which as a Bengals fan would certainly break my heart, but if the reports are indeed true, it's are certainly understandable…

Earlier in the Show the guys mentioned the scene on the Jets sidelines during the 1st quarter that was captured by the CBS cameras and saw Sanchez wipe his boogers on back-up QB Mark Brunell's jacket.  Craig mentioned how he'd like to hear a reporter ask Brunell about the incident, namely the FAN's Jets beat reporter Peter Schwartz.  The story reminded Boomer of a friend of his who once sucked the boogers from his ailing son's nose.  Be forewarned, this audio is a little graphic and rather disgusting, but very funny nonetheless…

When talking about the rich history of the Chicago Bears, Craig had a little fun instilling an NFL Films feel to the mix.  Then Jerry kept the good time rolling by offering his highly anticipated Moment of the Day, during which Boomer got a little choked-up…
