Reporting Paul Murnane
MOUNT VERNON, NY (WCBS 880) - Even a little but of snow on a slight hill can slow you down. Side streets are plowed, but they’re one lane wide barely.
“There’s no where to put it,” Nicole Hanesworth told WCBS 880 reporter Paul Murnane. “I actually lost a mirror to the snow.”
In Mount Vernon, Hanesworth was among those more struggling than striving.
“Please watch your step because slippery conditions may exist,” blares an overhead announcement at New Rochelle‘s Metro-North station.
Some trains were four cars long, packed full, with stops still to make in Pelham, Mount Vernon, and the Bronx.
“I know these guys are working hard. They’re trying really hard, but I’m surprised when it is on time, frankly,” said one train rider.
Another said, “Everyday, one day closer to spring.”
