SI Drug Incident Leads To Detectives, Suspects Hospitalized

NEW YORK (CBS 2) – A wild incident on Staten Island left two detectives and two drug suspects hospitalized on Friday afternoon outside the Manor Heights Shopping Plaza.

Police said two undercover detectives were approaching the suspects' car when it sped off. At that point, one detective fired his gun, but not before the car struck him in the leg.

Police caught the 18- and 24-year-old suspects a short time later. Prescription drugs and cocaine were found in the car, sources said.

One detective suffered a knee injury while the other was treated for chest paints. Both suspects also suffered minor injuries.
