Seabra looked dazed as he was brought into court in a Bellevue Hospital bright orange jacket. The prosecutor released a statement he'd made to detectives admitting that he killed Castro after arguing in their room at a Times Square hotel.
He admitted he grabbed him around the neck, compressed his windpipe, stabbed and mutilated him with a cork screw, hit him with a computer monitor and stomped on his face with his shoes on. He said the attack went on for at least an hour.
His attorney said he plans a vigorous defense and predicted a successful outcome. He would not speculate on what that might be.
