On WFAN: Jim Burt Talks Super Bowl, Giants’ Collapse

NEW YORK (WFAN) — Ex-Giants nose tackle Jim Burt joined Boomer & Carton on an icy Wednesday morning to reminisce about his playing days in New York.

For Burt, a two-time Super Bowl champion, watching the Giants lose a 21-point fourth quarter lead to the Philadelphia Eagles was a difficult pill to swallow.

“I just think that when Bill Parcells was coaching, we had a lead in the first quarter, we’re killing the clock,” Burt said about the Giant’s December meltdown. “I don’t want to be critical, because I don’t have any idea what happens inside those closed walls of the Giants.

“Just watching the game, there’s so many things that were done undisciplined for that to happen, forget about the punt return at the end.”

Do you think Parcell’s Giants would have blown that lead? Sound off in the comments below…

As a Giant fan I longer listen to this show. Carton is such a Giant hater why bother.

    1. Anthony says:

      Sorry NO LONGER

  2. Mike says:

Parcells would have cut a few players to make a statement. That’s the difference between Bill and Tom. There are no repercussions with Tom Couglin.
    Business as usual……..

If Parcells lost a lead like that–in that way—he might have resigned
    the next day

I’m a Jet fan who grew up a Giant fan from NJ and grew up going to see my Uncle in the 60’s in Babylon, West or East Islip ? Fishing, clamming and swimming in the Great South Bay during the summers. The Chug ,chug, chug of the clam boats used to wake me up in the morning : )
