'Holiday Bandit' Makes It 5 Bank Robberies In 7 Weeks

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) –- The "Holiday Bandit" is at it again.

NYPD officers spent part of Friday investigating a bank robbery at Capital One Bank, located at 1411 Forest Avenue on Staten Island.

Police said the suspect struck just after 10 a.m., showing the teller a gun before demanding cash.

The latest heist marks the bandit's fifth in the last seven weeks, having already struck at three banks in Queens and one in Brooklyn.

The suspect is described as a 35-year-old white male, around 6-foot-5, and approximately 200 pounds. During each robbery, he was observed wearing a black hat, dark sunglasses, black winter jacket, and dark pants, police said.

A significant reward is available for a tip that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information is asked to call the FBI-NYPD's Joint Bank Robbery Task Force immediately at 212-384-1000.
