Reports: Pills Found In Vehicle That Rammed Into N.J. School

PINE BEACH, N.J. (CBS 2) -- The mysterious crash and death of three New Jersey residents on Thursday has many people asking why?

Why would a 20-year-old drive straight on into a brick wall of an elementary school?

On Friday, investigators released autopsy results as those who knew the victims gathered for a candlelight vigil.

There were tears, hugs and disbelief as dozens gathered at a candlelight vigil to remember the three young people killed in a horrific crash in Pine Beach.

Investigators said 20-year-old Matthew Budesa crashed his car into the wall of the Pine Beach Elementary School, killing himself, 19-year-old Kimberly Van Gorden, who was in the passenger's seat, and 21-year-old Matt Witzgall, who was in the back.

The cause of death for Budesa and Van Gorden was multiple traumatic injuries.

While the prosecutor's office is still waiting for toxicology results, several reports indicate drugs, including pills, were found in the car.

None of the victims were wearing seat belts and there were no skid marks, police said.

An autopsy was scheduled for Witzgall later Friday.
