B&C Show Blog & Audio: The Next Level

Bobby Dwyer

The Green Bay Packers overcame all kinds of injuries throughout the season, having placed 16 players on the injured reserve list and during last night's Super Bowl, the injury theme remained intact.  The Packers not only lost Donald Driver to a high ankle sprain, but they also lost the 2009 NFL Defensive Player of the Year, Charles Woodson to a broken collar bone.  Not to worry though, because this team is quarterbacked by a man who has done all the right things since replacing the legend that 'was' Brett Favre in Green Bay and Aaron Rodgers took advantage of his spot on the biggest stage to the tune of 304 yards on 24-39 passing for a total of three TD's and no turnovers, a performance that garnered a Super Bowl MVP, something that the recently retired Favre does not have in his trophy collection.  So let all the comparisons begin, as Rodgers and the Packers take advantage of three Steelers turnovers and parlay it into the franchise's fourth Super Bowl title, their first since 1997.  Prior to the start of the game, pop singer Christina Aguilera tried her hand at belting out the national anthem and screws up in a big way.  All of that, a heated altercation between 'Mr. Phil Simms' & Desmond Howard and a miserable Super Bowl experience in Big D.  So Boomer & Craig returned from Dallas with a vengeance, the Booms on very little sleep, and they continued to do what they've been doing for over four years now, entertain the masses as only they can…

Plus, Jerry's Super update and allegations surface involving Mark Sanchez, Craig & Al's trip home from Dallas, Phil in Long Island puts Aguilera's appearance in perspective and Craig is fond of his own backside, the Mets open up their books, Boomer enjoys the Puppy Bowl performances, Jerry's hilarious Moment of the Day and an 'Attention Grabber' of the flexible sort…

Jerry 'Rello' Recco returned after an entire week in Dallas ready to go, he covered the Steelers for the FAN while he was there.  He got thing started by recapping what else, recapping Super Bowl 45 (I'm officially done with the Roman Numerals by the way), during which Craig took repeated shots at Brett Favre and the guys discussed a story on Deadspin.com, about Mark Sanchez and his level of involvement with a 17 year-old girl, which at this point seems to be a whole lot to do about nothing…

After Thursday and Friday's Shows from Dallas, Craig, his two boys Sonny & Lucky along with Al, were scheduled to fly home Friday, but due to some inclement weather in Texas, their travel plans were altered a bit.  I'll sum it up like this, at one point Al uttered the statement,' I don't ever want to have kids' (said the single 41 year-old man), he later amended the statement and said he would consider having one child (again, said the 41 year-old single man).  Luckily they made it home safe and sound…

Our boy Phil from Long Island called in and agreed with Craig that Christina Aguilera was lookin' a little rough around the edges.  Phil went on to compare Aguilera to New Jersey Governor Chris Christie.  The comments led to more jokes at Aguilera's expense and next thing you know Craig was going around the room asking everyone what they think of his backside, after claiming he has a 'great ass'…

As far as the commercials that accompanied the Super Bowl broadcast, Craig was very disappointed in one particular.  Since Boomer was calling the game for Westwood One, Craig did his best of explaining the commercials to the Booms and the one that really bothered him was the spot for Go Daddy.com, when they used some camera wizardry and put Joan Rivers head on the body of a rather curvaceous, female specimen.  One thing Boomer did see was 'Puppy Bowl 7', heck he even watched the highlights, which you can see if you'd like by clicking here…

All of that brought us the Jerry's highly anticipated Moment of the Day.  Today's involved the verbal altercation that took place over the weekend between 'Mr. Phil Simms' & Desmond Howard.  After he Moment played, Craig expanded on his thoughts on how Howard handled it…
