Ra ra ah ah ah. Lady Gaga is still going strong.

The incredibly quirky diva was nominated for a total of 6 GRAMMYs in the categories of: Album Of The Year, Best Female Pop Vocal Performances, Best Pop Collaboration With Vocals, Best Pop Vocal Album, Best Dance Recording, and Best Short Form Music Video.

She won three awards Sunday night. Her single "Bad Romance" won two GRAMMY awards --for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance and Best Short Form Music Video-- and her multi-platinum album "The Fame Monster" picked up the award for Best Pop Vocal Album.

Hailing from Manhattan, Lady Gaga, then known as Stefani Germanotta, attended all-girl elite private school Convent of  the Sacred Heart. Having played piano from the age of four, Lady Gaga composed her first ballad at 13 years of age. Upon graduating highschool, the songstress put her creative and eccentric mind to use and enrolled at New York University's prestigious Tisch School of Arts.

While attending college Gaga felt at times that she was more creative than some of her fellow classmates. This may have played a part in her decision to drop out in order to focus solely on a career in music. Her father, Joseph Germanotta- a internet entrepreneur, agreed to pay his daughters rent for one year under the condition that she would re-enroll at Tisch if her attempt at a music career failed to transpire.

Gaga began playing the lower east side bar scene and was eventually signed at the age of 19. However- after a three -month stint at Def Jam records she was dropped. Gaga was later introduced to coveted producer and hit maker, RedOne- and the two began working with one another.  After a series of attempts the songstress was signed by superstar hip-hop artist and producer, Akon.

Upon moving to LA in 2008 - Gaga began creating back to back dance hits. Recognized for her eccentric fashion ensembles and performances - the singer has established herself as the current queen of performance art.

In2009, Lady Gaga won her first two Grammys in the categories of Best/Electronic Dance Album and Best Dance Recording for the hit song, Poker Face and her debut album The Fame.
