B&C Show Blog & Audio: Ya Never Know

Bobby Dwyer

The guys got things started today talking about the hat Craig was wearing and a gift(s) that keeps on asking.  Then with the NFL season now in the rear-view mirror, it was on to baseball and Craigie was happy to report that Mets fans actually have something to be excited about…really, really excited about…that is if you are believin' what David Wright is sayin' down in Florida, '…put-up or shut-up'.  Correct me if I'm wrong, but haven't we heard this before (I know that I'm right, that is why I posed that question).  Anyway, Boomer thinks the confidence and leadership displayed by Wright is great, meanwhile Craigie was busy coming up with possible Mets slogan for the 2011 season.  The best one he came-up with was, 'Ya' Never Know'…Which kinda has a ring to it.  He even came up with a scenario involving a hot Gal, a clubbed foot fella and a bracelet bearing the catchy slogan.  And that is how this Tuesday edition of the B&C Morning Extravaganza got off the ground this morning…

Jerry got his update started with a story about those 'Not So Amazin' Mets and David Wright, who spoke yesterday from Port St. Lucie and had some newsworthy things to say.  Jerry also touched on the ongoing trade talks involving the Knicks, Nuggets and the services of Carmelo Anthony.  In other NBA news, the Cleveland Cavaliers lost their 25th game in a row and from the NHL; Boomer's Rangers lost their 5th in a row, so needless to say he wasn't happy.  All of that was really just a prelude for Jerry's first 'common sense quiz', which ended badly for Mr. 'Rello'…

Craig was very excited this morning when our friends over at WWTDD.com posted pictures of a topless Alex Rodriguez and his lady friend Cameron Diaz (she is wearing a top) frolicking at the beach in Miami.  According to Craig, this is visual proof that A-Rod is living the clean life, as opposed to the day he wandered around Central Park back in 2006.  You can check out all of the photos here and decide for yourself…

The guys got a call from Mike, who manages the WFAN Store at the Jet Blue Terminal (JFK Airport) and his call sparked a fond childhood memory of Craig's when his Grandfather used to take him to work at the airport with him…

When talking about the prospect of the Knicks landing Carmelo Anthony in a trade, Craig said if it were to happen, it would be the second biggest trade in the franchise's history, behind only the deal that landed them Earl 'the Pearl' Monroe.  Well Joe Benigno, one half of the Midday Show here at the FAN, heard Craig's claim and entered the studio to challenge him on it.  Joe b referenced the trade that brought Dave DeBusschere to New York, which in his opinion would have to be atop the list.  After the Show I received a call from my father and he pointed out that both of them left out the Cazzie Russell-Jerry Lucas deal that according to my old man; was the reason the Knicks won it all in 1973.  Talking basketball, my favorite pastime…

The Mets and their financial problems aren't going anywhere and today Newsday had an article (I would put a link to the story, but you have to be a subscriber to view any of their articles…seriously) and after reading it, Boomer & Craig shared with the audience what they learned and what they expect from the Metsies moving forward…

Before presenting his highly anticipated Moment of the Day, Jerry was given another 'common sense quiz' and this one didn't go much better than those that preceded it.  With that out of the way, the deck was clear for Moment of the Day…
