Red Wings' Filppula Suffers Injury Against Rangers
DETROIT (WFAN/AP) — Detroit Red Wings forward Valtteri Filppula was knocked out of the New York Rangers game with a lower-body injury.
The Rangers lost to the Red Wings on Monday night, 3-2.
The Red Wings announced in the third period that Filppula would not return.
"A little bump on his knee," coach Mike Babcock said. "We're going to check him (Tuesday) and see where he's at."
He had 31 points in his first 49 games this season.
Filppula left on the same night Pavel Datsyuk returned to the lineup after missing 19 games with a broken right wrist.
