B&C Show Blog & Audio: Time To Exonerate

Bobby Dwyer

The Knicks lost at home to the road weary LA Clippers (3-18 away from home entering the game) after being unable to recover from a sluggish start.  Boomer was there and said the Garden was electric prior to tip-off, but the Knicks came out flat which led Craig to say the Knicks are relevant, but not that relevant.  With the Knickerbockers hosting the other team from LA Friday night at the 'World's Most Famous Arena', they are now just one game over .500, at 26-25 and are in danger of slipping further into the irrelevant side.  Craig is tired of talking about Carmelo and the 'will he or won't he' be a Knick talk, so he decided to declare today as the day we exonerate Mark Sanchez from any wrong doing in regards to his courtship of a 17 year-old high school student.  He did so by pointing out there have been other high profile people in similar situations that have escaped unscathed, like Joe Piscopo and Mr. 'Helloooo' himself, Jerry Seinfeld, which was certainly an interesting road to go down, but we've come to expect that from Craigie.  Then we hear that Joba Chamberlain showed up in Tampa carrying 10-15 extra pounds, it's unclear if he added muscle or fat (I'm guessing the latter), but either way, considering the question marks in the Yanks rotation, Craig thinks the 25 year-old deserves another shot to be a starter…

Plus, Jerry put together a top notch update and then delivered it, Craig composes a list of 10 tips for Mark Sanchez to adhere to when looking for a mate, Lou from Staten Island cracks us all up, a game of 'What the Hell Was That' followed by everyone's favorite 'Don't Break the Chain', the guys ponder what kind of music Sanchez uses to impress the ladies, fighting legend Frank Shamrock stops by, Jerry's Moment of the Day and an 'Attention Grabber' that makes you want to strike a deal...

Jerry is very good at what he does, which is to provide both informative and amusing sports updates all morning long.  Today he got things started by recapping the Knicks loss at MSG last night, their 11th loss in their last 16 games before moving onto the Nets who beat the New Orleans Hornets in overtime and had a 'Humpty Dance' party afterwards.  From college, Rutgers used a 4 point play to upset Villanova and our old friend Chris Carlin had the call and nailed it…

Craig put out a challenge to all of his followers on Twitter (@CC660) yesterday to come up with some tips for Mark Sanchez to follow when looking for a date in the future.  So all morning he sifted through hundreds of entries and just after 8 o'clock, he read the top 10 and then picked a winner…

Lou from Staten Island used to call the Show on a regular basis and when we hadn't heard from him in while; Al and I grew concerned, although we did nothing about it.  Well yesterday we were pleased to hear from him and learn that he wasn't in any kind of danger or poor health, he just simply couldn't get through on the busy phones.  He called back today and when the guys put him on the air, he was in the process of getting ready to smoke a cigarette.  In my opinion, Lou is the single best caller we have on the Program…

From time to time, Jerry likes to present B&C with a sound bite and see if they can figure out where it came from, we call it 'What the Hell Was That???' and the guys really seem to enjoy it.  Today Jerry was able to stump Craigie, but not the Blonde Bomber, which was good, because the Booms hates to lose (at anything).  Then Boomer, Craig, Jerry, Al & Eddie all played a nice little game of 'Don't Break the Chain'…

The guys took a call from Doug, who wondered what kind of music Mark Sanchez plays for members of the opposite sex when he is trying to woo them.  Next thing you know Tracy Chapman is playing and Craig is expressing his affinity for those who can sing, especially those who get voted off 'American Idol'…

Frank Shamrock is a mixed martial arts fighting legend, having left his stamp on the sport, retiring as a 4-time UFC Champion and also capturing titles in numerous other organizations during his career.  Many considered Shamrock the best 'pound-for-pound' fighter in the world during his run as UFC Middleweight Champion, so needless to say, B&C were on their best behavior when Shamrock joined them in-studio this morning to talk about his storied career and the sport he helped build into what it is today.  He also was kind enough to pose for a photo with our own resident grappler, Jerry 'Rello' himself (see below)…

The Nets won an overtime thriller over the Hornets last night and Brook Lopez spoke after the game.  It was those events that led to Jerry's selection for his highly anticipated Moment of the Day…
