Wind Gusts Torment Tri-State; Temps Fall To 30s

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) – A wind advisory is in effect until Sunday as gusts reach a potential 45 to 55 mph on Saturday.

Those winds will remain the major issue as temperatures stay in the 30's to mid-40's across the Tri-State.  AccuWeather meteorologist Dave Bowers said the winds will continue to impact the area through the afternoon and evening before slowly subsiding Saturday night.

WCBS 880's meteorologist Dan Pydynowski said area residents should expect a mix of clouds and sunshine for the rest of the day and clearer skies and cooler temperatures tonight.

New York City's high will reach 40 degrees and there will be a low of 27. That low is expected to drop overnight as a system approaches the Tri-State, bringing with it increasing cloud coverage on Sunday.

There is  a chance of 1 to 2 inches of snow or a wintry mix that could coat the area overnight Sunday. Any precipitation is expected to turn to all rain by Monday morning.
