B&C Show Blog & Audio: Mozgov... Really?!

Bobby Dwyer

The NBA All-Star Weekend has come and gone and Carmelo Anthony is not on the Knicks or Nets. Nope -- at this point the scoring machine known affectionately known as 'Melo' is still a Denver Nugget.  According to the latest rumors, Knicks first year center Timofey Mozgov is now the player holding up the current negotiations, meaning the Nuggets want Mozgov among other things and the Knicks aren't willing to part with the 7-1 center.  Craig can't understand how this is even a possible, Mozgov standing between Carmelo wearing a Knicks uniform.  As the deadline fast approaches (Thursday Feb. 24th @ 3pm), B&C spent a good majority of today's radio program talking all about the scenarios that could and could not end up with Carmelo playing in the 'World's Most Famous Arena'…

Craig's oldest boy Sonny D had a game winning performance on the hardwood over the weekend and just as any proud father should, Craig bragged a bit about his son's accomplishments.  Then we got to hear from Jerry 'Rello' Recco and he had a lot to get to.  St. John's got a big win over Pitt at the Garden on Saturday and pretty much assured themselves a spot in the NCAA Tournament.  Isiah Thomas' name surfaces in the 'Melo' negotiations, Mikhail Prokhorov sheds some light on his business tactics and Spurs coach Greg Popovich talks about being in a locker room full of men.  The Rangers fail to capitalize, Jason Bay reflects on his first year with the 'Not So Amazins', the NFL labor talks continue and the Daytona 500 has a memorably finish…

At the end of her 7 o'clock news update, Tracy had a story about dating co-workers and whether or not it is a good idea to do so.  This was a story Al 'Hughes' Dukes could certainly relate to as he has dated woman he has worked with before.  Al also offered five examples of woman he has dated that have moved on from him and immediately got engaged to another fella, not a distinction you want to have following you, although Al did manage to put a pretty good twist on it…

Considering we are celebrating Presidents Day today, Craig asked Boomer who some of his favorite Presidents are.  Craigie of course shared a few favorites of his own, while Ronald Reagan topped the Booms list.  Then we heard how overrated William Taft was, as Craig unleashed his 'inner-Doggie'…

Then we heard a couple dueling rap songs from a couple of WFAN employees and one former intern.  Turns out we were mislead a little bit on the performers, as FAN employee Michael Hidasi (pictured above) called in to try and straighten things out and try to get his own song played…

At 36, RA Dickey will enter training camp with a guaranteed contract for the first time in his Big League career, as the knuckleballer inked a two-year deal with the Mets for close to $8 million back in January.  Today he joined B&C to talk about the new deal and get a general feel for the mood surrounding the club down in Port St. Lucie.  According to Dickey, the energy level is high; now let's see how long it stays that way…

Craig declared Bob's Blitz as a must read website each and every day, along with WWTDD & Deadspin.  This came up after the guys at Bob's Blitz created a list of: 'The Most Intriguing NY Sports Broadcast Media Personalities of the Past Decade'.  Since the list was littered with WFAN personalities past & present, it was certainly worth talking about, which is why Craigie brought it up.  I think it also helped that Craig was ranked 2nd to Boomer's 4th, but he didn't make too big of a deal out of that…

In addition to his duties as an update anchor here at the FAN, John Minko (pictured above boring 'the' Eddie Scozzare during a meeting)  is the radio play-by-play man for the surging St. John's Red Storm and after their impressive win over Pitt on Saturday, Craig invited the 'Mink-Man' into the studio to talk about the thrilling victory and get on him about his call of the final sequence.  Then Boomer expressed his interest in playing QB during our next touch football game, which Craigie was not thrilled about…
