"The residents are entitled to have a person of their choosing running the city," said Roach.

Roach says the people of White Plains have been though enough and it's time for things to calm down.

"What I'm looking forward to is the feel being more positive and I think that already has happened," said Roach. "The first thing we can do is change the sentiment in the city."

Meanwhile Roach, who has been on the Common Council for nine years, says he will be running for mayor.
