White Plains Acting Mayor Pushing For Early Special Election
NEW YORK (WCBS 880) - Acting mayor of White Plains, Tom Roach, is making it a priority that a special election for the seat occurs in the near future.
WCBS 880's Catherine Cioffi reports the special election to fill the mayor's spot has to be called within 60 days of last Friday, the day former Mayor Adam Bradley stepped down as mayor of White Plains.

"The residents are entitled to have a person of their choosing running the city," said Roach.
Roach says the people of White Plains have been though enough and it's time for things to calm down.
"What I'm looking forward to is the feel being more positive and I think that already has happened," said Roach. "The first thing we can do is change the sentiment in the city."
Meanwhile Roach, who has been on the Common Council for nine years, says he will be running for mayor.
