Kamisha Richards, 22, was found stabbed once in the chest around 10:35 p.m. in a ground floor apartment of the Cypress Public Housing complex on Sutter Avenue, police said. She was pronounced dead at Brookdale Hospital.

Kayla Henriques, 18, the sister of the victim's boyfriend, is accused of stabbing Richards to death instead of repaying a $20 debt. Henriques is being held on murder charges.

Relatives said Richards had lent Henriques the money to help her buy milk for her baby but when Richards noticed there wasn't any milk in the refrigerator a voilent argument ensued after she questioned the suspect about what she did with the cash.

Richards' family said she graduated from John Jay College last May and worked at JPMorgan Chase.

"She was a person with a future and a life that was going places," the victim's devastated mother told 1010 WINS' Carol D'Auria.

Richards had just taken the law school entry exam to fulfill her life-long dream of becoming a criminal lawyer. "When we used to watch TV, she used to watch 'Matlock' and she said, 'Mommy, I want to do what he do,'" Richards' mom said.

Richards lived in South Jamaica in Queens but often stayed at her boyfriend's apartment.
