NYPD Wants Public's Help To Catch Sex Attack Suspect

NEW YORK (CBS 2) -- Police have released a surveillance video in hopes of finding the suspect wanted for brutally attacking a woman in the Bronx last weekend.

The camera captured an image of the suspect who allegedly sexually assaulted the 30-year-old victim last Sunday.

Police said the suspect grabbed the woman from behind, pulled her pants down, threw the victim to the ground and punched her in the face before a Good Samaritan stepped in to stop the attack.

The suspect was described as a Hispanic male between 25 and 30-years-old, around six feet tall, and weighing nearly 230 pounds. He was last seen wearing a reversible hooded fur coat with black jeans and white sneakers.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).  The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers website or by texting their tips to 274637 (CRIMES) then enter TIP577.
