Power Restored In Bergen County After Transformer Failure

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Officials said a glitch at a substation was to blame for a major power outage in Bergen County Wednesday morning.

Nearly 60,000 customers were left without power around 9 a.m. after a transformer failed during routine switching at the Ridgefield substation, PSE&G said.

Outages were reported in Fort Lee, Teaneck, Englewood, Oradell, New Milford, Palisades Park, Cliffside Park and Ridgefield Park.

Power was restored about an hour later.
