For Knicks' Billups, Injury Woes Move To Knee

NEW YORK (WFAN/AP) -- The injury concerns keep mounting for Knicks point guard Chauncey Billups.

Billups has been hampered with a deep quadriceps bruise since last Tuesday, when he banged into Magic center Dwight Howard in the fourth quarter of the Knicks' 116-110 loss in Orlando. Now, the veteran says his knee is swelling from the collision.

"When I got hit, it shifted my knee," Billups said on Wednesday. "I got extra swelling. I'm just treating it."

Billups missed his fifth straight game as the Knicks took down the Memphis Grizzlies, 110-108.

"I think he's feeling a lot better. He's not quite ready yet," D'Antoni said before the game. "Just a little bit of pain. We just want to be very cautious."

As for whether he would be ready for Thursday's game at Dallas, D'Antoni replied: "You don't even know when it's going to be. When he's ready, he's ready."

The Knicks are 6-3 since the trade that brought Anthony and Chauncey Billups to New York.
