NYPD: 1 Dead Following Midtown Salon Robbery

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police said a woman was fatally stabbed at a hair salon near Herald Square on Thursday following a dispute with a man.

Authorities responded to D'Galina's Center Salon on West 35th Street around 3:30 p.m. Thursday. They found the 41-year-old Denise Kenny stabbed. She was taken to a hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Police said the woman had been in a dispute with a man in the salon prior to the stabbing.

NYPD determined the victim knew the suspect accused of stabbing her to death, naming 42-year-old Michael Kenny as the suspect.

After the stabbing, Kenny allegedly stole an undetermined amount of cash from the store's register, police said.
