Queens Woman Charged With Animal Cruelty

NEW YORK (AP) — A Queens woman was arrested and charged with animal cruelty after officials found a 35-pound dog in her apartment that was so weak it couldn’t stand.

ASPCA official Joe Pentangelo said officers went to the woman’s home Saturday in response to a tip.

The female mixed-breed dog had badly matted hair and the woman said she hadn’t taken the animal to a veterinarian in years.

The dog was euthanized after a medical examination. The 47-year-old woman faces up to a year in jail or a $1,000 fine if convicted of the misdemeanor charge.

Well, I have to tell you. For years Liberals Kept yelling There Ought to be a law There ought to be a law, Well you got your law. How do you like it now? Next you and us will get the shafting with the Change you all wanted. This article is a great example of run away Liberal law.

    1. Yankee fan says:

What are you talking about? What “run away Liberal law” are you complaining about? It used to be a misdemeanor (at most) for animal cruelty. Are you whining because the woman should suffer no consequences? Or are you b!tching because the law isn’t strong enough? Your comment is so vague, yet angry. If the law doesn’t go far enough, then you, as a conservative, contact your state legislators (if you know who they are – judging from your rant you likely don’t) and petition for a stronger law. Good luck if you want the law to be more lenient. That would put you in the Jeffrey Dahmer league. Liberals don’t like Jeffrey Dahmer.

She should of gotten LIFE IN PRISON!!!

I hope she rots in jail.

  2. Absurd says:

This is absurd….they are arresting this women for animal cruelty. Rather, then nurse the animal back to health. They kill it!

They should be arrested and put on trial.

the dog was past the point of recovery. if you starve an animal too long, they
will not be able to recover its health. they put it out of pain and misery. the woman deserves the same fate. karma will get you every time.

A year in jail or a $1,000.00 fine, that is so unreal. That poor dog suffered im sure for most of it’s life and this is all what that lady is getting. Our laws need to be changed right now to protect our animals and to make the punishment more severe for abusing animals. She should never ever be allowed to own another animal for the rest of her life.

I am never donating to the ASPCA ever again if Baby is not removed from the abuser’s home and the abuser prosecuted vigorously.

      AGREE 100%!!!

what do they mean by ” 1 year”, i think there is a strong need for the 1 to be followed by a 0, ending up a “10”
this is the least they would get from me, if i were to make laws regarding animal abuse.
i am sorry, but , on my opinion , whoever is harming an animal intentionally, is a potential killer, as in killing people also. I am sure that if laws would be tougher, as are in human killings, they would think twice before torturing innocent animals

a year is not long enough for her , baby problary suffered more than that they should give her longer time and not let her go to a dr. or brush her hair. and never allow her to have another pet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can only hope the ASPCA can further investigate the situation surrounding Baby the Samoyed. She too was very thin, horrendously matted and moreso in need of veterinary care for her infected oozing ears. Her body posture be spoke of a severely depressed dog in dire need of medical attention. Please Mr. Pentangelo and the ASPCA help to save Baby from the same fate as this poor innocent creature.

  8. Justice for Baby says:

The ASPCA needs to protect Baby like they did this dog, hopefully Baby’s outcome will be better than this poor dog who I hope is resting in peace now that she is away from her abuser and heading over the Rainbow Bridge.
