I’m not sure how you got on discussing Bush, but here are the facts. Clinton was doing a horrible job as president the first few years, so the public in 1994 elected a Republican House and Senate. With the Republican Congress taxes were lowered, the economy picked up, unemployment dropped to 6% and by the end of Clinton’s terms in office, the Republicans had reformed welfare and balanced the budget. When Bush was elected he got blind sided nine months after beginning his term when Terrorists attacked the Trade Center and Pentagon. Because of having to respond to this Bush had to borrow too much money and increased the deficit to $168 Billion his first year. Despite the shock to the economy Bush was still able to lower taxes and spur growth. Unemployment dropped to 4.5%, interest rates dropped to their lowest in history. The economy rocked. Although the deficit got as high as $300 Billion, he ended up getting it back down to $161 Billion when he left office. The economy was doing real well until 1998 when the Democrats took over Congress because of the lies being told by the media about Bush. After two years of Democrats controlling the Congress unemployment had increased to 6.5-7.0%. So Bush left office with a $161 Billion dollar deficit, growth 3.5%, 0% inflation. Obama was elected and in 2001 Democrats controlled the presidency and BOTH Houses of Congress. Democrats had total control to do anything they wanted. Unfortunately they did and Obama borrowed record amounts of money and turned an average recession into a full blown depression. After 2 years of Complete Democrat Control unemployment was 10%, the deficit had ballooned to $3.7 Trillion Dollars, core inflation was 1.5%, gasoline $4.00 per gallon, growth 0% of GDP. So there it is the TRUTH all lined out for anyone to understand. Only a fool would ever vote for a Democrat again. When they had total control they destroyed our country in two years. Democrats will never have the right to blame Bush for anything, because Obama has proven democrats are too stupid to run a country.
