NEW YORK (CBS 2) — The search continued Thursday for a robber who police say has been targeting Manhattan school children.

Police said he robbed two children on the Upper East Side last week.

On March 10, the suspect allegedly went up to a 12-year-old boy on East 65th Street around 3:30 p.m., pushed him into a wall, told him he had a gun and then ran away with his laptop.

The next day, the suspect allegedly used the same M.O. on a 16-year-old boy around 3:15 p.m. near Park Avenue and 83rd Street. Police said the suspect made off with the boy’s iPhone and money.

The suspect is believed to be between 25 and 30-years-old. He is described as being 6-foot-1 weighing 250 pounds. Police said he was last seen wearing a dark waist length coat with a white pinstripe across the shoulders and blue jeans with a dark baseball cap.

The victims were not hurt.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477). Tips can also be submitted to the Crime Stoppers website or by texting 274637 (CRIMES) then enter TIP577.
