Suspects In Fatal Shooting Arrested On Unrelated Robbery

NEW YORK (CBS 2/AP) -- Three teenagers wanted in connection with the fatal shooting of a woman who was trying to keep muggers from taking her cell phone full of her husband's romantic texts were nabbed after they were arrested on an unrelated robbery.

Police said Sunday two of the suspects, Corey Brown and Ian Green, both 17, were arrested on murder charges in the death of 23-year-old Rabia Mohammed, of Queens. A third suspect, 16-year-old Tiyquon Hodges, was arrested on robbery charges. The names of their lawyers were not immediately available.

Police say the three were busted for an unrelated robbery on March 17. Police did not provide details on that crime.

Mohammed was shot while walking with her husband in Queens last Sunday. Shazam Khan said his wife likely put up a fight because she cherished the texts on her phone.
