Yankees Captain Derek Jeter's Star Keeps Rising

This year, the New York Yankees captain is expected to pass the 3,000-hit mark.
"Five world series championships. He's got MVPs of the World Series, MVPs of the All-Star Games, but having 3,000-hit plateau under his belt as a Yankee is gonna really increase the value. I think that anyone that's thinking about it should act on it now," says memorabilia expert Scott Stemelle.
Stemelle says the Yankees superstar's jersey, signature, anything Jeter, is a guaranteed money maker.
Talent, charm, good looks, likability. Stemelele says he's got it all, not unlike a caped crusader.
"It's kind of like a superhero," says Stemelle. "Kind of like a Clark Kent that turns into Superman."
He says Jeter has love power.
"Jeter will always be hot and Jeter will always be loved," says Stemelle. "He's the guy that you want your kids to collect. He represents a great Yankee on and off the field and his value, I believe, is only going to go in a positive direction upward."
Stemelle says he even has likability to Red Sox fans.
"I think that the Red Sox Nation would open up their arms and say, 'Derek! You can play short for us. We don't need you in the outfield," says Stemelle.
Jeter's No. 2 jersey was the top seller in 2010, according to CNBC.
